Statement

I have always had a lifelong fascination with the exchange of energy through human interaction. In each situation, the energy exchange is significant and unique, leaving impressions upon both parties involved. No one ever walks away unchanged. I capture these impressions, working with translucency to create images that are ethereal and seemingly ephemeral.

I begin each piece knowing that I can’t fully control the outcome. The making of it is a personal meditation on letting go and embracing mistakes. I make each piece in a pair – the making of one space would not be possible without its sister. In this way there exists a duality - an art piece that is split in two, but made as one. They can never be fully separated.

My current pieces are extremely personal, born out of anxiety, missed communications, and a growth of feminine sexual identity. Both objects and strange landscapes, they are a statement on female relationships, passionate friendships, sexual encounters and the impressions left behind.
